Positive TV - Postive News - Positive Life

Not new, not benign, not always in one's own words or beliefs. Yet as an access point it is strong. If you have seen it before, ponder it again. Wrongly it suggests historical solutions. View it and be with it from the future you want. http://positivetv.tv/channels/2012-the-revolution-has-begun/

Transcending the Physical

Humanity has a long history of spiritual existence - both secular and religious. Most - but not all - put this existence above the physical, calling on it to direct and support choices and actions. Yet many human choices and actions are automatic/habitual, instinctual or otherwise not thought about or in any way considered.

Choices and actions define us. What underpins these will only become evident to friends and questioners who have earnt our trust, and even to ourselves only when reviewed or analysed - a form of mindfulness.

'Mindfulness' may be applied to this raised awareness of both why we do things and how we do things as we attempt to transcend the physical origins of our behaviours.

Only when we insert mindfulness before action or choice can we transcend our most basic instinctual, habitual and automatic behaviours. To do this will change the world in which we live.

If we do not like any thing about our world it can be changed by us. But only if we overcome - or transcend - our physical origins. Now do we enter the moral or the spiritual or another place to achieve this?

That is my next installment.....

17th April, 2012 - Consciousness Evolved - Ian Lewis

Format of session - Workshop - Participative - very interactive)

Description of session:
In a world now moved to the pure essence of each individual with no smoke and no mirrors, humanity has reached its pure consciousness. We should not wait. Let us explore this place of ALL, together....NOW!

“The significance of ‘the spirit of adventure’, as we meet with those who inspire us, is unquestionable. Who do we respect, who do we admire, whom do we hold high? The spirit of adventure is always present with the visionaries, the determined, the tenacious, the motivators and the achievers. The spirit of adventure is so present in a realised human being it is very difficult to see how an education system for all, in a society which wants itself to evolve, can ignore or leave to chance, the possibilities of being brilliantly, fully human." Ian Lewis FRSA FInstLM

The world has been for too long in ancient paradigms. We need to be far more positive through a beautiful concern for the way of now. This way would surprise few. So many speak about it as the utopia or euphoria it is. Those who don’t see this as their possibility or responsibility have individual loss. Their position holds nothing back for it slows nothing.

Underlying the inability to see things in different ways or to see or grasp possibility is the inability to enjoy possibility. Enjoyment is absolutely central to being here, now. To be constantly inundated with possibilities can be very frightening. there are those who spend time creating and yet don’t like to see change in what has been created. Yet the cosmos moves on. The game for new visionaries is to open up different dimensions and possibilities [they are are all here and accessible, now] so we become the energy we are and enjoy the beauty play.

We can enjoy all aspects of dimensionality, from physical energies (breadth, width, depth, air, water, land) to sensory energies (balance, stillness, sound, smells) to cosmic energies (being everywhere and yet being as one, experiencing all our multi-dimensionality simultaineously). All these things are accessible by any individual provided they become confident of, better still amused by, playing adventuresome games with the physical and non-physical world. This workshop helps participants enjoy playing with all. It is vital, as we move through the old paradigms to now, to have a sense of personal sovereignty, a real ownership of self, self-responsibility and ownership of our own opportunities and possibilities in this great multi-dimensional place....this is the new Spirit of Adventure.

This lifecollege session is both about being all and being with others in their being all. Be with me, too. Questions about 'Consciousness Evolved' via 'Comments' below. See you there....
....or if you are minded to use this work, please - be in allness - credit the creation....

Ianspirational: '2012 - Global Year of Collaboration' - The Elders...: "Could/would you consider putting your influence/weight behind raising 'collaboration' to the level of '2012 - Global Year of Collaboration' ..."

'2013 - Global Year of Collaboration' - The Elders - United Nations - UNESCO

Could/would you consider putting your influence/weight behind raising 'collaboration' to the level of '2013 - Global Year of Collaboration' ?

I have worked with UN/UNESCO on occasions and currently work with global NGOs, GOs and private enterprises in diverse countries - 'developing' and 'developed'.

In leading change, often 'hand-rails' are needed to support learning, new understandings and action - vital ingredients for our better world.

One early vital step on this 'hand-rail' is improving collaboration - intentions, skills and openings.

Collaboration, as a special attribute, an overt value/behaviour of humanity, might be the acceptable step, leading towards understanding, celebration of differences, reduction in duplication and waste/resource: time, budget, energy, material.

Wanting education?

"These disappointing results are rooted in non-profit school communities maintaining for-profit activities, i.e., external / subject curriculum focus and test scores."

No, I'm not for throwing out the baby with the bath water. We need to ensure reading, writing/keyboard skills, arithmetic/numbers/finance is in our base-level learning, as we also need moral, values, community, health, global issues and self management to be included within the evidenced experiences of being at school and with educators.

But we do need some relationship stuff, too. No one with even the slightest hope of success in life would ever expect to alter the behaviour of another without a firm relationship focus underpinning their intentions and expectations.

Our first teacher-test must be for 'Ability to form sustaining, beneficial relationships with pupils which will underpin learning through trust and relevance to each child.' Education managers should ensure the environment which supports the development of these relationships - events, time-tables, quality-assurance....

Teachers do not teach to earn money - they teach so their students succeed through their teaching.

Living as Pure Energy Beings....Just in case we are...?

Ian is a fascinating man to know and a great friend to have on the
evolutionary journey. He’s an innovator extraordinaire, but in ways
that most people wouldn’t necessarily see. Like most new
visionaries that I know, Ian IS evolutionary energy at work in the
world. Here’s what he has to say about the world of vision,
leadership and energy:

“My work is adventure … adventure in the arts, the spiritual
adventure, the adventure in the aesthetic, entrepreneurial
adventure, the adventure in just being yourself, health adventure
and so on. Once you’re free to live as yourself in these areas then
you find yourself helping the future rather than hindering it: you
become a part of the future and you know it.

My role as an adventurer is to help people see possibilities. As I
move through, around and with people, they begin to see themselves as change
and thus allow other possibilities for change. When they
become that change manifesting - then things really move.

ENJOYING POSSIBILITIES
I see visions as possibilities that are already out there. It’s a
picture of what should be, needs to be or will be. A world without
aggression, hunger and suffering is something that is there. All
we need to do is to help people do things that are more helpful
towards that vision.

The world has been stuck for too long in ancient paradigms. We
need to be far more positive with far more concern for a new way. I
don’t think the new way would surprise too many people since so
many people speak about it as some sort of utopia or with some
sort of euphoria. But there are a lot of people who don’t see this
move to the new as their responsibility or their possibility.
Underlying people’s inability to see things in different ways or to
see or grasp possibility is their inability to enjoy possibility.
Enjoyment is absolutely central to the new. To be constantly
inundated with possibilities can be very frightening for people.
They spend their lives trying to create something solid and don’t
like to see that change.

The game for new visionaries is to open up different dimensions
and possibilities for people so they can become the best
dimensional energy they are and enjoy playing with it. We can
enjoy all aspects of dimensionality, from physical energies
(breadth, width, depth, air, water, land) to sensory energies
(balance, stillness, sound, smells) to cosmic energies (being
everywhere and yet being at one as well as experiencing our multi
dimensionality). All these things are accessible by any individual
provided they become confident of, and even amused by, playing
adventuresome games with the physical and non-physical world. I
help people enjoy playing with things. It’s vital, as we work our
way through the old paradigms to the new, to have a sense of
personal sovereignty, a real ownership of self and selfresponsibility
and ownership of our own opportunities and
possibilities in this dimension.

People shouldn’t think because they come from a particular
background or don’t have so-called required credentials, that they
can’t achieve things. I come from a big family with a typical
council house background and, naturally, Prince Phillip has given me the
use of Windsor Castle for three days and in November I’m
running events in Buckingham Palace and in the House of Lords
and House of Commons. I just don’t see these things as amazing.

I see these things as normal and that they’ll be there … and then
they’re there. I’m contacted a lot by the media, but I don’t have a
picture of myself on stage pontificating. I do see myself as helping
the media to become fully responsible and properly empowered to
be able to write accurately what is actually out there. That’s what
I hold the space for in the future I’m working towards.

EXPECT THE FUTURE TO BE AS YOU SEE IT
I always expect the future to be as I see it and I’m really surprised
when it’s not that. It’s about where I sense the world wants to be
and where I’m at one with the world. Constraints are self-created
and don’t exist in my world. So for example, if I walk into a
political meeting or go to work with youth groups, I can see that
they’re sitting in their view of reality. So I get them to walk
through their imagination, to learn to live adventurously and to
move into the future as it could possibly be. I hold the space for all
the change to take place and evolve the size of that space to be big
enough to allow all the changes to happen in the best possible way.
I can do this easily and naturally because I feel everything as pure
energy. The place I exist is everywhere. I’m hardly me at all.

Working as and with energy allows for a fluidity and malleability
of movement because of the interconnectedness that’s available in
the energetic sense. The whole of possibility and the nature of
current existence and what people call now are all one
consciousness, the cosmos as a totally living consciousness of
being. Once we can interconnect with and live as this, we can be
the individual and the whole all at the same time and from this
place, any given part of the whole can take total responsibility for
as much as it wants to at any point of time.

THE DRAWING FORCE
The point at which someone decides they’re going to take
responsibility and live in a certain way is the point at which
leadership kicks in. Leadership is a multi-dimensional energy.

When someone feels or knows they’re here for a particular
purpose, the cause begins to bubble up and becomes present. The
energy changes and becomes quite directional. Good leaders will
have a very clear picture of where it’s taking them. But with the
greatest leaders, even though they have clarity along the way,
there is something else … a very powerful drawing force that gives
them all the tools, skills and resources they need to get to where
they’re going.

Accessing the drawing force is about working to become more
conscious of ever greater sources of energy and possibilities. I
currently feel the drawing from two places. The strongest is into
the cosmos, the dimensions that we would call space and time.
The other is something that I feel strongly within … my physical
existence, my presence. It’s about aligning the two and creating a
bubbling lifestyle in the here and now that follows the flow of the
drawing force.

THE EUPHORIC FIELD
When I feel for the future, it’s a feeling of euphoria and fun. There
are terrifically invigorating, enlightening feelings around when
you’re drawn to the right place. Ignoring the drawing force and not
moving with it can be painful and deadening. Average is not good.
It’s where the very best and the very worst meet and that’s not a
satisfactory place. Drawing yourself to average is not enough.
Always draw to the very best … the right place for you to be, a
place I call the Euphoric Field, an elongated Now, where ‘Peak
Experiences’ (remember them?) abound and life energies play. In
the Euphoric Field all is one and visions are realised.

There are people who want to stand out. There will be people who
will be needed to show the way and not everybody will have to do
that. It’s a great euphoria in itself to be in the places you should
be, to be the energy you should be. They’re all great places to be as
long as they’re the right places.

New visionaries are the people who live in the right places for
themselves. Some will stand out and some will not. But when
you’re near them, you’ll know them. You can’t avoid that energy,
that presence. People who are not ready to change will be tempted
to reject them and people who are drawn to change will be drawn
towards them to share their energies happily.

This place is where everyone will eventually end up. It depends on
how much you want to tie yourself down to the present. There is
no such thing as not letting go in this paradigm. It is all about
letting go, feeling where you’re drawn to and thoroughly enjoying
being in that place. Underneath all this is the understanding that
the cosmos will evolve as we evolve. It’s not a place to get to - we are here, in an
existence you can enjoy being in and adventuring through. It’s
about realising the world and all we experience is [part of] the cosmos and with it health, art, nature. Seeing and bringing that energy into the possibility of the furthest and greatest future, is now long overdue.”

The Great Big Society....

Campaign for Adventure is a strong supporter of the Big Society initiative. At planning a CfA session 24 points of potential were set into a Big Society Vision Plan. We now offer these as ideas for improvement. Tell us what you think...

We all know we only come to know ourselves when we push limits. Failure tends to be about not reaching potential rather than opportunities not being found/sought/offered. These 24 points came from discussions on the statement 'If we are to create an enterprising society of creative individuals, the learning process itself must be adventurous.'. Tell us what you think about the educational and societal implications and opportunities related to these statements....

More people getting closer to achieving their potential

Everyone knows their future is in their own hands

Every young person has experience of Adventure & Enterprise.

When people go travelling they don’t get the guidebook out

Increase in trespass in the countryside [eco-conscious pioneering].

Decrease in TV/Video/computer games

National survey shows a belief in doing adventurous things

People do something new every day

UK is in the top 3 of adventurous societies [Adventure Olympics?]

Index of adventure – use existing statistics – is created and monitored

Young offenders’ institutes close – no need to commit crime to get a thrill, or status

Groups writing their own prescriptions for adventure

A groundswell of popular opinion exists that balances the culture of fear

No adverts re suing people

Hospital occupancy drops by 50% - due to greater health, judgement & responsibility.

Councils stop identifying risks that don’t exist/start balancing risks

Increase in unsupervised use of playgrounds

More children walking to school by themselves

Regular power-cuts enthuse real creativity in the home and are no problem

More start-up businesses, particularly more staying alive beyond 3 yrs

Re-introduction of wolves into remote parts of UK – the positive side is seen

Communities [not councils/quangos] feel in control of their local economy

Peoples’ lives are more adventurous overall, with higher self esteem evident

Old people are more adventurous – life into years puts years onto life.

Human Potential - 97% dormant?

Of the 3 billion codings of human DNA, only 3% is utilised in humanity’s existence today. So what is humanity’s potential? What might be unrealised within us?

Evidence of this hidden potential is emerging from studies of isolated breeding – those places where religious, cultural, geographical, caste and temporal restrictions have inhibited the averaging out of potential and the breeding away of dominant genes, allowing the recessive gene to exist, even flourish.

Now some genes produce obvious characteristics - brown eyes, height, specialist awareness (spatial, colour, relational, etc.), yet there are many characteristics which are not obvious….and as this is an invitational writing, you invited to postulate on the unobvious, the desirable and the amazing.

If the sum of our human existence and amazing capability amount to 3%, the lost 97% allows a lot of scope. For instance, it allows for all living matter’s characteristics to individually, as well as jointly, be within human potential. Yet all living matter only exhibit a further 10% of possible genetic codes, leaving a full 87% for our imagination and for human possibility and potential.

Do you have any favourite possibilities?

Each day we need to say to ourselves something of deep integrity, beauty with potential, for example

Would that human creativity were focused only on the truly wonderful, amazing and sustainable...there is so much wiggle room there. Who needs to risk our planet, integrity and peace?

Controlling our World...I Robot rules

Do organisations out-control humanity and thus threaten our extinction through their survival?

Organisations now dominate the Earth. They routinely damage ecosystems, act ignorantly of human need and damage all and everything in favour of their own survival. Whilst human-made and apparently/overtly human controlled, they are now human-unfriendly and many are human dangerous.

They now occupy the top of the food chain changing food acres to fuel acres, ancient sustaining forests to desert and fast-run-off, short term low yield producers of food and even dangerous chemicals and biofuels. They are now the greatest threat to our human well-being and the survival of all species. The decision-maker over this great wave of current extinctions is sitting in the boardroom right now. In short they organisations place their survival above that of humanity.

Yes, collective ownership does prevail. Yes, that's right, we all own some part of of most of these institutions – through pensions, taxes, public or charity organisation. Of course owning it (even if we mutually own all the shared parts) is not directly being in control. We have not the competence to communicate, control or understand the systems which will remove the undesirable effects of its existrence.

It is an interesting rule which they are governed by: “Directors must act in the interests of the organisation”. No suggestion of caring for humanity, the planet or the future unless it is a future for themselves.

Now I sit on boards, five to be precise, two global, two (UK)national and one European. No decision is made without deeply concerned discussion on ethics including environmental and cultural impact. We look over our shoulders to see who is watching as well as feel in ourselves the impact of decisions. Yet in our decisions which appear not only sustaining but potentially enhancing of humanity and environment, of well-being and happiness, the effect of damage to all continues.

I have seen this so often. The survival of the organisation – public, private, non-profit, led by the board, is passed down to people who need to work and who will almost always choose job-survival over job-loss. It is this need to protect one's livelihood that causes the problem When jobs can be lost and ethical choices made at every level in the organisation, without fear of hunger, our family's hunger, our status, progression, pensions and all, being threatened, we can sieze back the power of the organisation and enjoy the ethical sustaining rich fruits of our labours.

What to do?
Treat organisations as robots and apply the Asimov 'I Robot' Laws. First Law: "A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm." Second Law: "A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law." Third law is about self-preservation, as long as it did not conflict with the First or Second Laws. All laws are to be applied with both short and long-term considerations taken into account, including ecological and diversity.

Unusually I am even in favour of some application of the precautionary principal – taking risks of the unknown and uncertain is not acceptible. No risk, even if we do not know there is a risk. The World Court should have basic powers to restrict and charge flaunting and cause organisations to cease existence if necessary quickly to prevent existing damage or risks. They should also have power to supervise the making-good of past damage, recovering from recipients any funds generated.....quickly and with questions following not preceding action.

This will allow humanity to regain control of itself and of its effects on the World. We should then move to the repair phase – regaining what we have already destroyed and put at risk.

My little cosmic exercise...into the Allness of Being....

Into the Allness of Being....

All are always there. Occasionally a hand-rail reminds us we exist and play everywhere and always in allness. Here is one hand-rail

Sun at back ( the science = facing North and East is to your right and we are spinning that way), fly/flow/surf with the energy to right.
Sun at front (the science = facing South, East is on your left and we are spinning that way), fly/flow/surf with the energy to left.

assume the position....and....

now you are dragon riding....you are your own dragon...and your flying speed is....
850kph = approximately your speed round Our Earth (in kilo-meters per hour at the 51st parallel); 98,000kph Earth speed round Our Sun; 800,000kph = Sun speed round Our Milky Way Galaxy; 1,600,000kph = speed of the circulation around Sirius/Andromeda/Milky Way Galaxy 'Near Group' celestial cluster. Max speed = 2,499, 600kph… of course at times we are in relational-retro, so we can lose a few thousand kph or so occasionally.

Now 40 million sub-atomic particles travel through each one of us every second of our lives, each travelling at up to the speed of light, without touching anything, and we get some idea of how energy-centric we, and everything, actually is.

From this place, we can look at this world, know our place as part of it and feel how we should be with it, ourselves and each other.

Please feel free to offer corrections....I've rounded the numbers!

Consciousness Evolved - Today was inspirational - aren't they all, now?

Today was inspirational - the same as every other today. An event, a meeting of evolved people, where the future was happening in real time. Coruscating infinite beauty of the human kind, uninhibited by culture, teachings, the past. Being fully in the present with all its possibilities.

It is always nice to be in these places. There are so many of them today. Consciousness has evolved yet it is more to argue that we have evolved to realize consciousness. To become it, see it, demand it, fulfill it. To be.

To be. The artist's joke..2B, the ideal sketching pencil. To draw a line is to inhibit possibility. The cosmos, humanity, the future: if we draw/see them as a line we condemn to a future of the past. Better by far to disrobe, to unchain, to detach and unleash the infinite. Perhaps of potential but now we have moved a long way, we have leapt the chasm and not in the two bounds of uncertainty. We are on the other side. Potential has been realized. It is no longer unrealized. We are it.

Our new future - trending now - is to see all in this place. No hiding. No smoke. No mirrors. Emporers' clothes for all - just the pure and amazing and ianspirational self to see. We are seeing all we are and this is the place of being...Consciousness Evolved. Time to do something else amazing....

New education...a time to rethink - again?

A sad education system which seeks continuation of a defective system...unsustainable, inefficient, fun for the few, failing to realise potential, failing to ensure individual responsibility-taking and true choice.

Economies have been built on tulips and trinkets and they are currently built on games (golf, football, yachting), fun, dance, music and violence. We can choose our sustainable market in anything for which we can educate if we want money as the base; a recent/current one was manfacturing where limits of resources and of later problems of disposal form a slowly arising awareness in boardroom educations of later life. The highest marks in education must focus on those changes which actually deliver a better world - food where food is needed rather than more food with un-health, less population, no unnecessary journeying, production, messaging, etc., and extra marks for more time to enjoy our lives.

It would also be healthy to award extra marks to those who educate to produce ideas which remove those who spend their time pressurising others to work for them rather than for themselves - Human Capital Theory.Schultz et al.

One answer is in E. M. Forster's The Machine Stops. It actually gives us the answer to 'Where does all the go, go?'

Time to update the freedom and responsibility discussions?

Engaging with our friends, community, society, nation, humanity is a progression of values (no, not family – this is too non-committal and unchanging). How much of this particular progress do we want, how much do we have and how much do we need?

Self-responsibility has to be our starter, and yet do we consciously choose? Our education and parenting systems should focus on developing the independent, fully empowered, fully realised personality. Such educated personality might be decisive, informed, creative, independent, resourceful, empathetic and courageous.

From here we can move to our engagement with society. Such engagement will then be in ways which are productive and meaningful to one another taking into account the all. This may mean the future requires greater individual sophistication than before, not just to a greater degree, but to a universality of sophistication – an expectation of higher values, commitment, self-belief and intention across humankind. This is not a huge step away from seeing humanity evolve – and expectation is a powerful tool of such change, although as yet we poorly learnt to use it.

The future is not isolated, but it is also not directly connected to the past – this is a matter of choice, albeit for some and in some circumstances, a difficult choice. Individuals and organisations, .collectives, governments and nations, none may escape such challenges which exist right now. Putting off means at best putting off; we should all be benefiting now from our potential to change. Humanitiy's greater sophistication would suggest not putting off, but choosing, deciding, acting soonest.

And so, too, the organisation and the nation, as well as its people. The educated personality of the future must be affective[actually acting] not merely effective[knowing why and being capable of acting], across the key facets of society including the ethics of science, markets, dignity, administration/red-tape...poor words or great words: universal humanism or survival and joyous wondrous healthy lives for all in this, our amazing world.

2011 Global Year of Collaboration

In 1997, as Principal of Lifecollege, an innovative personal development academy, I talked to Europe, the USA, Australasia and parts of Africa and Asia about the European Year of Lifelong Learning. At the time I used satellite technology - 'squirting the bird'. We knew little of the web at the time. Responses from Sub-Saharan Africa, Iceland and Russia showed great enthusiasm and led to some great connections, each having many rich experiences attached and leaving lifelong-learning as a virtual by-product. Today I cleaned the sculpture presented to me by the French Minister of Culture at the time for organisating a collaborative exchange to Alpe-Provance-Cote D'Azure linked to Lifelong Learning in Southern France and in South West UK. Great days. My agenda then was 'step-change thinking' - moving beyond mere straight-line progression.

Today I use the internet to launch 2011 Global Year of Collaboration. This is just one of the progressions which have stemmed from the connections made so long ago, now encompassing fully 88 contries, many institutions and hundreds of people.

That which is common is the strength of collaboration between us all. No only the friendship and fun, but the determination to draw the best from the many opportunities of great collaborations. Not only have we many projects, both completed and in progression, but we have true progress for humanity.

Now I have to ask myself: Have I read poorly, or are the ancient texts a little light on collaboration? It does appear that, where undertaken with authenticity and trust theer were some great things achieved along the centuries. Perhaps even the greatest of empires depended upon collaboration in times of gain. Yet where was it later, in times of loss? Is this the true cause of the decline of empires? Trust and authenticity gone and the strength reduces to that of the parts, far inferior to whole held tight by collaboration.

Perhaps, in these austere days we need to look awhile at why collaborations are particularly relevant just now? Well, amidst the miriad of reasons, we can see time, finance and travel as savings and inteligence, expertise and increased potential as fine harvests or returns. Yet what matters to humanity, what is important and raises our quality of life, is also present in great collaborations.

I can only ask you to think about it. Perhaps you have a collaboration which will be something special in this special year of collaborations?
